Image-Guided Tumor Therapies
Minimally invasive therapies that precisely target tumors while preserving healthy tissue.

Targeted tumor treatment with maximum precision.
Image-guided tumor treatments offer a minimally invasive alternative to surgery for carefully selected patients. Using advanced CT and ultrasound imaging, we precisely target tumors while preserving as much healthy tissue as possible.
Rather than removing part or all of an organ, specialised treatment probes are placed directly into the tumor through a small skin incision. Depending on the individual case, the tumor is destroyed using either controlled heat or extreme cold.
This organ-preserving approach often results in shorter recovery times, less pain, and fewer complications compared with conventional surgery.
Conditions we treat
Image-guided tumor treatments may be suitable for carefully selected patients with:
Primary liver tumors
Liver metastases
Kidney tumors
Lung tumors
Breast tumors
Bone metastases
Soft tissue tumors
Selected benign tumors including osteoid osteoma, scar endometriosis and uterine fibroids
Treatment recommendations are always made in close collaboration with multidisciplinary clinical teams, ensuring that every patient receives the most appropriate treatment based on their individual condition.
Cryoablation
Cryoablation destroys tumor tissue by exposing it to extremely low temperatures. During treatment, a visible “ice ball” forms around the treatment probes, allowing the physician to monitor the treatment zone in real time using medical imaging.
This high level of visualization makes cryoablation particularly valuable when treating larger tumors or tumors close to critical structures such as nerves, blood vessels or adjacent organs.
Microwave Ablation
Microwave ablation uses carefully controlled microwave energy to generate heat within tumor tissue, resulting in rapid and effective destruction of cancer cells.
The technique is especially well suited for treating selected liver, kidney and lung tumors, offering excellent local tumor control while preserving surrounding healthy tissue.
Why choose image-guided tumor treatment?
Compared with traditional surgery, minimally invasive tumor ablation offers several potential benefits:
Organ-preserving treatment
Small skin incision
Reduced postoperative pain
Shorter hospital stay
Faster recovery
Minimal scarring
Repeatable if new lesions develop
Precise image-guided treatment planning
Not every tumor can be treated using ablation, which is why every case is carefully evaluated by a multidisciplinary team before treatment is recommended.
